Kate Hardy :: Bio
She wrote her first book at the age of six, when her parents gave her a typewriter for her birthday, and she’s wanted to write for Mills & Boon since she was a teenager. When she was pregnant with her daughter, her husband pointed out that writing Medical Romances would be the perfect way to combine her interest in health issues with her love of good stories. Her agent loved it, Mills and Boon loved it, and it was accepted on her daughter’s first birthday and published on her second in 2002.
Since then Kate’s branched out into Modern Heat as well as Medical Romance. The Cinderella Project was one of the launch titles in both the UK and Australia, Strictly Legal (aka ‘Mistress on Trial’ in the US) was one of the first Presents Collections and made the Waldies top ten list, and Breakfast at Giovanni’s, her 25th title, was published in June 2007 and won the RNA Romance Prize 2008. She was also shortlisted for the RNA Romance Prize in 2006 with Where the Heart Is and in 2009 for Sold to the Highest Bidder! And her book Hotly Wedded, Conveniently Wedded was the first Presents enriched e-book in January 2009, with lots of links and pictures and extra information about the book's background.
Kate also writes critically acclaimed local history books as Pamela Brooks (and was shortlisted for the first East Anglian Book Awards in 2008). You can find out more about her books on her website, http://www.katehardy.com/.
